Telescopic forklifts
Telescopic forklift units are equipped with a pronged lift on an arm which extends over the top of the truck providing great height and versatility. The arm, or crane, is referred to as a telescopic boom. The boom enables the operator to maintain a high degree of control while lifting the cargo to great heights. Regular forklifts can not move the cargo away from and towards the forklift cab, whereas a telescopic forklift can allow that movement. The telescopic forklift is normally used in both construction and agriculture. It is better for applications where greater control and lift is necessary.
In cases needing high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments known as forklift carton clamp attachments are better. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings which allow the operator to apply uniform clamping force when lifting a load. It comes with a backrest which protects the cargo from damage.
A slip sheet attachment fits onto a slip sheet forklift. It is used for storing systems that don't use pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forklift forks. This kind of system is handy for intra-corporate deliveries and for overseas shipments.
A man basket is a lift platform designed particularly to hoist staff. The basket attaches to the forklift forks, held in with a chain or strap that is to be secured directly to the forklift carriage. The platform has railings to protect the staff from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are used for fastening the worker's safety harness.
