When the time comes to choose the appropriate warehouse truck, it is a good idea to figure out how high you plan to raise your loads, how much you need to lift, how much space you need to work in and how far you would like to travel. These factors will influence your purchasing decision and help decipher which kind of forklift truck is the ideal one out there to meet your requirements and meet your whole expectations.
Normal Aisles
The most economical trucks are pedestrian stackers. These machinery are ideal for working in standard width aisles and finishing ordinary stacking jobs in a warehouse. They are capable of easily lifting loads of less than 750kg and be able to stack them to heights of about 4.5 metres. A different kind called rider stackers could successfully lift loads to roughly 6 metres.
Yet a different choice to consider are reach trucks since they offer much greater lift and load capacities, whilst some models complete with telescopic forks. This characteristic enables you the ability of stacking pallets two deep. For extra flexibility in handling goods, there is a multi-way and a 4-way reach truck which as the name implies, can be driven in four directions. These models are particularly great for handling long and large things such as boards, piping and planks.
Counterbalance trucks are best suited for traveling longer distance and are a great choice for stacking jobs, especially block stacking. They are also an excellent choice for stacking cargo that weigh over 2 tonnes and free stacking.
A Tight Squeeze
If you are working in a high-density storage operation, the aisle space would typically be a lot narrower and the heights you will want to reach to will possibly be a lot higher. Man-up telescopic lift trucks work great in high-bay, narrow aisle stores. They offer the operator or driver a good view of the stacking process. There are other types referred to as man-up combi trucks. These are quite versatile in that they could be used for both order- picking and stacking jobs. They could be utilized in narrow aisles or driven throughout the warehouse.
