Classifications of Scissor Lifts & Aerial Lift Platforms
Scissor lifts and aerial platforms allow employees to work on elevated structures as they can reach a lot of objects and structures. These lifts offer friendly user controls that enable to independently operate the platform from the base. This allows the equipment to access things. There are a lot of lift designs available which are suitable for specific applications and settings.
Scissor Lift
Using a series of crisscrossed linked steel arms, the scissor lift is designed to make an X patterned support system when the lift is raised vertically. Employees utilize a large rectangle platform which is attached to the top of the lifting device. There are support railings along the edges to provide added protection.
Scissor lifts are ideal for pavement, hard and compact dirt surfaces and concrete because they feature a low profile. These machinery use either a combustion engine or an electric motor to power the lifting device as well as the lift.
Rough Terrain Scissor Lift
Rough terrain scissor lifts use the same technology as the standard model of scissor lift. The rough terrain model varies in that it features a specialized base that is designed for uneven surfaces. The rough terrain even provides a higher ground clearance and oversized all terrain tires. These models offer lower lifting heights overall because of the higher center of gravity of the machine.
Telescopic Boom Lift
The telescopic boom lift provides a telescoping beam which rises both vertically and diagonally. This machine offers a small work platform equipped with controls to operate the boom. The controls use a combustion or an IC engine in order to power the hydraulics and lift the boom.
Articulating Boom Lift
An articulating boom lift has two telescopic booms which are attached with a moving elbow. This lifting machinery offers a small work platform or a bucket outfitted with hand controls that are utilized to control the boom. The articulating lift can reach over things and on top of buildings.
