Forklifts are vehicles commonly found in factories, warehouses and various work sites where it is necessary to move heavy materials from one location to another. The mast is the mechanism situated on the front of the forklift that hydraulically lowers and raises the load. The "cat" is the area that is protected where the forklift driver sits.
Forklifts could carry loads which weigh between one to five tons. Some types could be used to lift shipping containers and loads that are much heavier.
Forklift tires should be checked and maintained regularly. The types of tires on different forklifts vary according to factors such as weight of the loads, ground surfaces and frequency of use. Every driver of a forklift should have access to tire press, replacement tires and a forklift jack.
Tire Maintenance Instructions
Perform tire inspections on a regular basis. Watch for indications of wear and damage to the tires. If the wear on the tire exceeds 40 percent, it should be replaced.
When you buy tires, be certain you purchase the correct kind - solid, pneumatic or polyurethane.
When you need to replace the tires, the forklift jack should be positioned under the tire. You can easily change the tires if you lift the forklift high enough.
You can utilize the tire press to pull the tire from the rim and remove the damaged tire. Install the new tire and properly secure it. If you are changing more than one tire and you have only one jack, lower the forklift, then reposition the jack at the next tire.
On-site tire repair could be performed by a repair company. If the tire is extremely big for both mobile and in-house tire presses, the damaged tire should be transported to a shop which has a stationary tire press.
