In 1966, Bud Bushnell founded Genie Industries. During that time, he purchased the manufacturing rights to a material lift which operated on compressed air. The name Genie originated from the "magic in the bottle" that was used to lower and raise the hoist. This mechanism really impressed customers and thus, the name was born.
Genie has moved into many new markets, since the demand for work platforms and lifts grew. Over time, when the demand for new equipment to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself recognized in numerous new markets. Like for example, Genie went into production with stick booms, telehandlers, light towers, man-lifts and articulated booms.
Due to the economic downturn in the beginning of the 2000s, Genie decided to acquire a partner who had the same values. They partnered up with Terex Corporation. This company has a history obtaining equipment manufacturers all over the globe who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Because of the Genie name and its solid reputation within the workplace, it was determined to maintain the Genie brand as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was just decided after the first few years following the sale. Hence, all Genie equipment continue to be sold under the Genie brand name.
Genie takes pride in listening to their clients. The company is dedicated to continually improving quality and efficiency and is also dedicated to lessening waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on offering outstanding support. These are the very work practices that have made Genie a trusted brand name over the past decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality machinery.
Genie's Bi-Energy and DC machines are emission-free, quiet equipment capable of working in delicate work environments. Where the machine must be driven significant distances, such as within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator together with the benefits of a 48V DC equipment.
As opposed to any of the various kinds of aerial platforms, telescopic booms provide greater horizontal reach overall. These equipment are great for limited access places in construction and other industrial environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been designed to provide utmost productivity. These machinery provide the drive speed and supreme traction you need in order to travel around the job area and work site.
